Southland Silver Beech: Nothofagus Menziesii

Silver Beech is a NZ Native and commonly grown on the west and south of the South Island of New Zealand. Beech species are extensively used for the manufacture of wooden eating products throughout the world and is recognised as the premium material for this application. It is the only material used by Starwood to manufacture star beechwood skewers.

Quality Control

Our skewers are 100% checked, this means that every single stick that arrives at your plant has had 5 pictures taken of it by a vision sorting system, checking for all critical dimensions which could affect the performance of your Emsens kebab machine and processing plant.

Food Safety

Starwood operate an accredited food safety program, and have a HACCP approved plan. These are both monitored by Asurequality, whom are an independent third party supplier. Our products are suitable for direct food contact and will not introduce into any packed product any substance injuries to health of your customer. They comply with CE1934/2004 and 2023/2006 food safe standards.

Sustainability

Starwood utilize Southland Silver Beech; Nothofagus Menziesii. Our Beech is sourced from sustainably maintained forests in the southern part of New Zealand, close to untouched UNESCO World Heritage Parks and the Southern Ocean.
